Submitted article with title ”The use of UAV with infrared camera and RFID for airframe condition monitoring” is written on 16 pages, with 7 figures, 4 tables, 14 equations and 43 references. The paper is worth publishing, but in my opinion, the manuscript content needs some improvements.
Suggestions:
- The abstract is too theoretical.
- The introduction needs to be reworked, the authors pay attention to the UAV, but nowhere did they mention RFID, which is mentioned in the title of the article.
- The failure analysis is processed to the required extent, however specific defects are missing in the text.
- In the proposed solution miss a practical example of visual inspection with UAV.
- I think placing IR camera on UAV mavic is not possible. Can you verify with a photo presented system?
- What is the role of MATLAB and how works image processing?
- What are the conditions of shooting with IR camera?
- Table 4 Drone inspection you stated according to your measurements or your dava was only theoretically according to information from the author Novák.
- Subchapter 3.5 is not generally managed at a sufficient level. The author does not provide any information about the RFID system. Frequency, tags, RFID readers nothing is mentioned. Autors state the notation 4GB of data. This is not possible because on the tag is only EPC code and another information come from database.
- The next problem is reading the RFID tags. If we want place RFID tag on outside to make it readable does not meet the condition of aerodynamics. If it place inside through Airframe will not be readable. As the authors thought with his placed?
- CMB RFID design is interesting, but not technically described.I recommend paying more attention to the issue, not just half page.
- The design of UAV RFID should be one of the main issues, it is mentioned in the title of article.
- Conclusions, please describe your future directions.
Overall it's not clear to me benefit of this article. All the specific comments can be followed in reviewed copy of the manuscript. I recomend this paper publish in journal after major revision.
