Reviewer 2 Report

the paper is generally good. However, there are a few typos to correct: in the introduction to line 22 and line 28 there are words that are cut without reason in my opinion.

The number of keywords should also be reduced to five if possible. Figure 1 and Table 1 appear in the paper before they are announced in the body of the text; it would be wise to do the opposite to prepare the reader for their appearances. Finally, the equations on lines 220 and 221 are in a format that could be confusing. It would be a good idea to rewrite these equations with the fraction bar horizontal.

Good job and good luck for the future!

Author Response

We thank the reviewer for reading our paper carefully and giving the above positive comments.

Point 1: in the introduction to line 22 and line 28 there are words that are cut without reason in my opinion.

Response 1: Thank you for the above suggestions. But after careful examination, no missing words were found. Line 22 is a brief summary of the research purpose. Line 28 describes the results of the study in space.

Point 2: The number of keywords should also be reduced to five if possible. Figure 1 and Table 1 appear in the paper before they are announced in the body of the text; it would be wise to do the opposite to prepare the reader for their appearances.

Response 2: Thank you for your comments on our manuscript. We have adjusted the position of Figure 1 and Table 1 according to your comments.

Point 3: the equations on lines 220 and 221 are in a format that could be confusing. It would be a good idea to rewrite these equations with the fraction bar horizontal.

Response 3: Thank you for pointing out this problem in our manuscript. We have made changes in the manuscript.

Reviewer 3 Report

The manuscript presents a good topic , it follows the scope of the journal and would be interesting for the readers. Here are same minour comments which should be corrected

-        I suggest to change the title into Assessment and prediction of extreme temperature indices in the North China Plain by CMIP6 climate model”.

-        - Abstract needs to be reworked: There is no comment about the novelty of this work. What is the main contribution of this work.

-      -   This sentance , Support vector machine (SVM) performs regression analysis on the multi-GCMS prediction results , should be moved after The results show that ( Line 23):

-        - Add reference for this sentance Tian found that the simulated precipitation of the CMIP6 model in China was in good agreement with the observed value

-        - This should be moved to introduction part Therefore, predicting future extreme temperature trends in the North China Plain can aid in understanding the extreme climate risks that global warming may bring to agricultural production, allowing agricultural production levels to be stabilized and regional food security to be ensured [7, 17]

-        Line 124, change 0.5° 0.5° into 0.5×0.5°

-        Line 137, Put reference [20] at the end of the sentence.

-        Line 177, change The Support Vector Machine (SVM) method into SVM data mining method….

-        Line 386, change then use the SVM method into then SVM was used to stimulate

-

Good luck

Response to Reviewer 3 Comments

We thank the reviewer for reading our paper carefully and giving the above positive comments.

Point 1: I suggest to change the title into “Assessment and prediction of extreme temperature indices in the North China Plain by CMIP6 climate model”.

Response 1: Thank you for the above suggestions. According to the revised content, we revised the title again.

Point 2: Abstract needs to be reworked: There is no comment about the novelty of this work. What is the main contribution of this work.

Response 2: Thank you for the above suggestions. We have made a careful study of your suggestions. But it should be noted that: the innovation of this paper mainly includes two points: first, the global climate model data of CMIP6 is adopted in this paper, which is superior to that of CMIP5; Second, this paper uses machine learning algorithm -SVM to carry out regression analysis of multi-climate models, and applies machine learning algorithm to the calculation of extreme temperature index. We believe that these two points can already be reflected in the current abstract. At the end of the abstract, the results are listed one by one.

Point 3: This sentance , Support vector machine (SVM) performs regression analysis on the multi-GCMS prediction results , should be moved after The results show that ( Line 23):

Response 3: Thank you for the above suggestions. According to the suggestions of reviewers, we have modified the sentence order.

Point 4: Add reference for this sentance Tian found that the simulated precipitation of the CMIP6 model in China was in good agreement with the observed value

Response 4: Thank you for the above suggestions. This sentence has been quoted. These sentences” Tian found that the simulated precipitation of the CMIP6 model in China was in good agreement with the observed values. In the future scenario, the average annual precipitation in China showed increased rate of precipitation and fluctuation. In northern China the increased rate of precipitation was higher than in southern China [10].” are quoted together in quote[10].

Point 5: This should be moved to introduction part Therefore, predicting future extreme temperature trends in the North China Plain can aid in understanding the extreme climate risks that global warming may bring to agricultural production, allowing agricultural production levels to be stabilized and regional food security to be ensured [7, 17]

Response 5: Thank you for the above suggestions. We have made changes in the manuscript.

Point 6: Line 124, change 0.5° 0.5° into 0.5×0.5°

Response 6: Thank you so much for your careful check. We have made changes in the manuscript.

Point 7: Line 137, Put reference [20] at the end of the sentence.

Response 7: Thank you so much for your careful check. We have made changes in the manuscript.

Point 8: Line 177, change The Support Vector Machine (SVM) method into SVM data mining method….

Response 8: Thank you for the above suggestions. We have made changes in the manuscript.

Point 9:  Line 386, change then use the SVM method into then SVM was used to stimulate

Response 9: Thank you for the above suggestions. We have made changes in the manuscript.
