Abstract

Statements about the advantage of the CDH detection method are very assertive. Please re-determine based on evidence.

Especially in the results section, there are repetitive statements. Review this section again.

Introduction

Review the sources used in the introduction part of the text. Replace all possible sources with newer sources. (Prefer publications published after 2017.)

Materials and methods

Were the samples randomized into groups? If so, describe your randomization method.

Under what conditions were the bovine teeth stored until the study was conducted? Please specify clearly.

According to which standards were the dimensions of the enamel slices determined? If this was determined according to ISO standards, please specify. Also add reference to this in the bibliography.

How was the group of samples determined? Please add reference about it.

What was used as acid? It is mentioned that carbonated beverages available in the market are used as acid, but it is not enough. Please specify clearly.

How were the temperatures in the groups determined? Please specify clearly.

Clearly write the formulation of artificial saliva. Include a reference to the formulation.

Results

In the examination, it was determined that the results and discussion sections of the study were written together. However, there are very few statements about discussion. This section needs improvement.

There was no statement about the limitations of the study. Please indicate the limitations of the study.

State clearly the null hypotheses of the study. And state clearly the null hypotheses of the study. Interpret this with the results.

Figures

In figure 4, the (d), (e), (f) parts are very small. Please enlarge visibly.

Likewise, parts (a), (b), (c) are very small in figure 5. Please enlarge visibly.

Tables

Tables are very understandable. The tables show the data properly.

Dear authors,

The manuscript titled :“The study of tooth erosion tested by the color digital holography (CDH) detection system“ has very innovative topic explaining system including optical path and numerical  calculation program for detection of the tooth erosion under different acid etching conditions. However I strongly recommend to revise  parts of it.

Abstract should be revised according to the journal guidelines.

Introduction part is more combination of introduction and discussion with too many facts and references that should be part of discussion. I strongly suggest to revise this part.

Materials and methods are well explained and results are presented in appropriate method.

The biggest concern is where is discussion part??? I am aware that there is lack of literature report on the application of DH to the study of tooth etching, as you mentioned in introduction but this is not reason for complete lack of discussion.

The whole manuscript could be of interest to the readership of the journal but after major revision which needs to be done according to the comments above.

- The authors included brief results in the intro session (remove it); include the aim of the study

- where is the ethical committee (because of the cattle teeth)?

 

Results:

- Fig. 4 (d-f) are tiny; Fig. 5 (a-c) too

 

Discussion:

- Include this session (there is no discussion in the article)
