Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors have proposed an interesting area of work which, they however would need to consider the following;

1. The study objectives are too many (4) to be adequately addressed in one study using the approach they have utilized.

2. The authors would need to rethink the methodology used and it is recommended they clearly study the standard acceptable frameworks for such work, such as JBI (The Joanna Briggs Institute Model for Evidence based health care, it is a developmental framework for evidence based practice). This would guide the reviewers to generate solid evidence which is difficult to be deduced using the approach used at present.

Author Response

Dear reviewer,
Thank you very much for your recommendations. The authors nourish the articles from the contributions received by you.
Regarding your considerations:
1) The objectives of the study are broad but specific. All the objectives are detailed in the article and are developed in the work.
2) The methodology used has been a bibliographic review of all the publications of recent times. We have used the recommendations established by the publisher. Still, we appreciate your input on the Joanna Briggs Institute Model for Evidence-Based Health Care and will use it in other work we want to develop.
We thank you in advance for your collaboration.
Thank you very much for your valuable work.

Reviewer 2 Report

This manuscript is a review on ventilator-mechanical associated pneumonia in patients admitted to intensive care units. The manuscript should be proofread. For instance, “Juny 2022.” “Natesia Rodrigues A et al (45)” should be replaced with “Natesia et al [45].” The formats of the references should be revised to conform to the requirements by the journal Applied Sciences. A detailed summary of the state-of-the-art work in the form of a table is recommended. Different kinds of work are recommended to be categorized. Comparisons of pros and cons of each category are recommended (in the form of another table).

Thank you very much for your valuable work.

Reviewer 3 Report

Authors have well illustrated the Ventilator-acquired pneumonia and preventive measures require..

Comments

1. Title of review article should be concise with broader scope, rewrite to include nursing staff too.. Ventilator- associated pneumonia: management and preventive aspects.

2. Rearrangement of scheme 1 is appreciated.

3.  A graphical abstract/figure with molecular mechanism of Ventilator- associated pneumonia is highly appreciated.

4. Discussion can be improved by illustration of CDC guideline and clinical practice guideline.

Author Response

Regarding your considerations:
1) The title is modified: Pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation: management and preventive aspects.
2) The introduction is revised.
3) A diagram of the different types of articles used has been incorporated.
4) The discussion is reviewed.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Round 2

Reviewer 2 Report

There is still some minor issues. The formats of the references still are not consistent with the requirements by the journal. Citations in the text like "Al Zahraa M et al" can be changed to  "Al Zahraa et al".

Author Response

Dear reviewer,
We again appreciate his input.
The reference formats have been reviewed one by one according to the journal. Sorry.
Thank you very much for helping us enrich the work.
We hope it is now perfect for publication.
Thank you!
