Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Hi Dears

Thanks for this  novel research.

Comment:

1- Why is the Diagnostic criteria DSM-IV used? DSM IV-TR or DSM5 are newer.

2- Please explain more about the include and exclude criteria.

Thanks.

Author Response

Thank you for your efforts in processing our paper. We greatly appreciate these thoughtful comments, which we believe have helped us to improve the paper substantially. Below we provide a point-by-point response to these comments. All changes in the manuscript have been marked with a track-changes mode.

  1. The DSM-IV criteria were used due to unavailability of standardized tools validated for the Polish population to confirm a diagnosis according to the DSM-5 criteria. We have provided this explanation in the manuscript.
  2. More information about inclusion and exclusion criteria has been added.

Reviewer 2 Report

1. Please standardize the usage of abbreviation. For example, D-SCZ and SCZ-D and D-SCZ-D, are they all referring to Deficit Schizophrenia?
2. Authors may also need to include the sleeping quality as one of the lifestyle characteristics.
3. In unadjusted analyses, D-SCZ and ND-SCZ had significantly different levels of HOMA-IR, HDL and triglycerides compared with healthy controls, but after adjusted for potential confounders, there is no difference between groups. From here, authors may add some explanation to these findings in Discussion.

4. Revision for language and grammar may be needed for the manuscript.

  1. All abbreviations have been corrected as requested.
  2. Unfortunately, we did not record sleep quality. However, we have addressed this point in the limitations.
  3. The explanation for a lack of significant between-group differences with respect to metabolic parameters after adjusting for potential confounding factors has been provided in the first paragraph of the discussion.
  4. Language and grammar have been improved.
