Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Review of the paper: Study on Correction Method of Internal Joint Operation Curve  Based on Unsteady Flow

Albeit the problem itself is important and the application relevant, the work is done at prototype scale. Also, it’s interesting and relevant for the journal scope. In general, it is well written and structured. Some improvements are requested in order to further rise paper quality. Please find some suggestions and recommendations:

1.      Please underline very clearly the novelty of your study compared to previous studies at the end of introduction, and at this stage the main objectives of this manuscript should be presented;

2.      The author should present the mathematical model

3.      Numerical procedure should be also indicated. Besides, please give information about the PC where the numerical simulations are performed and the average actual-time required to reach the accurate solutions, considering the utilized grid structure.

4.      Please add a figure showing the meshed geometry along with the information about the mesh types used.

5.      The authors should make economic evaluation of the present system at prototype and industrial scale for helping to take decision about the efficiency of the present system.

6.      I recommend indicating the boundary conditions on the schematic of the problem.

7.      Also, the author should compare the obtained results with those in the previous research papers

The paper could be accepted with minor corrections. Here is my commentaries:

1. Have authors conducted grid independence study? If it was conducted, then results should be presented

2. What program was used in numerical modeling?

3.  You optimized the surge values of the compressor, but according to table 5, power consumption increased for compressor. Please add some information on that in the results and discussion section.
