Research on the Effect of Karst on Foundation Pit Blasting and the Stiffness of Optimal Rock-Breaking Cement Mortar
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
This paper aimed at the problem of water inrush during the tunnel construction in karst strata, and used the SPH-FEM coupling method to calculate the coupling effect of blasting load and groundwater pressure more accurately, which had obvious practical significance. Overall, the article is well organized and its presentation is good. However, some minor issues still need to be improved:
(1) Please use the correct tense and check the grammar and spelling.
a. “Relying on the Dejiang Tunnel Project… analyze the results…The analysis…outburst prevention thickness of the karst tunnel. ” should be changed to “Relying on the Dejiang Tunnel Project…analyzes the results…the analysis…outburst prevention thickness of the karst tunnel. ”.
b. “karst water inrush (KWBF) …, A fuzzy comprehensive …, ” should be changed to“karst water inrush (KWBF) …, a fuzzy comprehensive …, ”.
c. “Liu [24] … Mechanical model test …”should be changed to “Liu [24] … mechanical model test …”.’
(2) Change “x” in formula 4 to “d”, which is consistent with the previous text.
(3) The “x” in the formula in Figure 13 should be changed to “d”.

Reviewer 2 Report
1) In section 8, authors should improve and support recorded data to verify FEM model.
2) Authors should explain more detailed how to get critical cement content corresponding to limestone types.
3) How does the contact between SPH particle and finite element mesh affect numerical results ?
4) Please check again value shown in Table 6 as generally, strongly weathered limestone will contain more clay or cracks, and its density should be lighter when compared to that of medium weathered limestone.
