Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This research work investigates the effect of traveling wave influence on the long-span suspension bridge-rail interaction, by using FE software ANSYS. It is a good paper. It can be suggested for publication after the revision.

1-     Please add a notation list.

2-     Quality of figure 2 should be increased.

3-     Validation subsection (subsection 3.2) is not complete. Comprehensive validation should be conducted.  Fig, 6 cannot completely prove the accuracy.

4- Please Italic the symbols.

5- In order to provide a more comprehensive literature review, the authors should cite and discuss the following relevant paper in their revised manuscript.

-Static capacity of tubular X-joints reinforced with fiber reinforced polymer subjected to compressive load. Engineering Structures 236 (2021): 112041.

6- Lines 571 and 572, we see “. 479mm larger.”. Please revise it.

Review report: Influence Analysis of Traveling Wave Effect on Rail Interaction 3 of Long-span Suspension Bridge

1.       Shorten the length of the abstract section and add only key information in abstract section.

2.       Discuss the Novelty and clear application of the work in abstract as well as in introduction section.

3.       Shorten the length of the introduction section and add key published work and try to make a bridge between current and previous published work.

4.       Add the reference for each equation.

5.       Without any experimental validation, it is difficult to reach any conclusion.

6.       What will be the effect of the material and their properties?

7.       There is too much unnecessary information. Keep only required information.

8.       Manuscript is also week in terms of technical discussion.

9.       Shorten the length of the conclusion section. Add only key bullet points.
