Hull Form Optimization Study Based on Multiple Parametric Modification Curves and Free Surface Reynolds-Averaged Navier–Stokes (RANS) Solver
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
Present work shows a different approach in the ship hull geometry optimization with respect to Ctm. Although the method does deterministic optimization in a turbulent fluid flow modelled by RANS, the results show trends in the shape optimization. Due to the nature of the optimization strategy, it allows for a nice parallel speed up in the simulation process.
The overall optimization procedure shows obvious improvement in time scale, with all necessary checks of important strategy ingredients: grid size, gradient calculations using finite difference, 2DOF approximations, ...
I would recommend it to be published in the present form. Only the English language should be checked again.
