Influence of the Texture Configuration of Heating Surfaces Created by Laser Irradiation on the Ignition and Combustion Characteristics of Liquid Fuels
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
This paper presents an experimental study on the influence of texture configuration of heating surfaces on the ignition and combustion characteristics of liquid fuels. The research is interesting and important for understanding the performance of microchannel. A few questions are as follows.
1. Fig. 2 shows three different structures of the microchannels. Could the authors give the reasons for designing the three structures with different sizes?
2. Fig. 7, ignition delay time was plotted with the error bar marked. How could the authors deduce the experimental uncertainty?
3. The conclusions are too long and need to be further refined and simplified.

Reviewer’s comments
The manuscript could be accepted by addressing following questions and comments
11. Figure 5 need more explanations, particularly on the images at different time (e.g., from 0 to 60 s)
22. Could the author provide the EDX analysis on the surfaces before and after the experiments?
33. Could the author add fluid dynamics analysis on the micro channel?
44. Is there any wettability analysis on the surfaces (hydrophobic and hydrophilic) with the contact angle values?
55. Is there any correlation between the surface wettability (contact angle) on the ignition and combustion characteristic?
66. Could the author add calorimeter analysis of the fuel?
77. Could the author add heat transfer analysis on the heating surfaces?
