Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The article discusses the incorporation of triangular silver nanoplates (TSNP) into biopolymer blends for various applications. TSNP exhibit unique optical and antimicrobial properties due to their shape, sharp edges, and vertices. The biopolymer blends used in the study are Bacterial Cellulose (BC) with Polylactic Acid (PLA), Polycaprolactone (PCL), and Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB). The antimicrobial activity of the materials is tested against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The TSNP are also protected with gold (AuTSNP) and analyzed for biosensing applications, specifically fibronectin behavior, using sucrose sensitivity tests and Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance (LSPR). The article highlights the potential applications of TSNP in antimicrobial materials and optical biosensing. The synthesis and characterization methods for TSNP and the experimental procedures for testing antimicrobial activity and biosensing applications are described.

1.       The historical context and benefits of silver as a material are thoroughly explained. However, it would be beneficial to state the gap in current research and the specific goal of this study explicitly.

2.       Investigate the advantages of triangular shaped nanostructures (TSNP) over other nanostructures in the introduction.

3.       How do the authors recognize the shape and dimension of the TSNP? Please include TEM / SEM images.

4.       What about the reproducibility of properties, and biosensing applications of nanostructures? The authors should consider the nanostructures' and biosensor's long-term stability.

5.       Why did the authors select polyethylene glycol as a surfactant from a list of polymers?

6.       What kind of interaction occurs when Fn antigen and antibodies bind to PEGAuTSNP?

7.       Information is repeated from the materials and methods section to the results section in the manuscript. It should be corrected by the authors.

8.       Determine the LOD and sensitivity parameters for measuring AntiFn antibody concentrations.

9.       How does the proposed detection system's selectivity fare in the presence of physiological elements?

10.   The sensing parameters should be compared to previously reported biosensors by the authors. A table is highly recommended for inclusion.

11.   Rewrite the conclusion to summarize the main findings and their implications. Discuss the study's limitations as well as potential areas for future research.

12.   Proofreading would be beneficial in addressing minor grammatical errors and improving overall readability.

The manuscript entitled " Triangular silver nanoparticles synthesis: Investigating potential application in materials and biosensing " is devoted to research on a Triangular silver nanoplates for Antimicrobial and biosensing applications. The obtained results may open up possibilities for disease diagnosis and biomedical research. However, I cannot recommend the manuscript for publication in this form, corrections are required. My comments and recommendations are below.

-        Line # 408, The label A, B should be added in Fig.2 and scale of Y-axis should be started from 0 for visualization of whole spectrum.  And do the need full for other Figures.

-        Morphology of TSNP prepared in Scaled Up TSNP (300 mL) and in original synthesis  method (8 mL) should be provided.

-        Line #417, the lable A, B, C and D should be mentioned in the caption of Fig 5.

-        Line 331-342, the particles distribution of TSNP on the substrate of sample BC /TSNP should be provided and discussed. And concentration of TSNP on the substrate use for Antimicrobial evaluations as sown in Fig 6 should be provided.

-        It should be good to rewrite the Conclusion section to describe the achievements of this work, and to facilitate readability for the readers.

-        The Quality of English Language is adequate, but it can be rewritten to facilitate readability for the readers

Thanks for your study. The authors had a study on  Triangular silver nanoparticles synthesis: Investigating potential application in materials and biosensing.

In my opinion, the introduction should be started with a issue that your final formulation can improve it in the future. The introduction is not proper at all. Besides, some new and related references should be added. Also, the aims of study should be clear in the introduction. Besides, the introduction is so long and confusing. Please improve it.

The research design is appropriate generally. However, some more details for microbial tests are needed. For example, which type of instruments were used in Scale-Up of TSNP Production? Did you have any production line?

Please mention the statistical details for sensitivity test.

Please provide the statistical information for all data.

The figures are good in quality and but not in quantity. The samples are not clear. The groups, the controls,....

The discussion and conclusion are good. However, they should be improved and changed according to the revised introduction again.

Minor editing of English language required
