Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This article deals with a very important topic for the infrastructure construction. The authors proposed an interesting methodology that can optimize the drilling of anchor rods in foundation pit external angles. The method is properly explained and useful schematic diagrams were included to quickly understand the method. The results obtained were adequate to validate the method. As far as the knowledge of the Reviewer, the results are published here for the first time. Therefore, I recommend this article to be published after a minor revision:

* In the title, there is an unnecessary blank space between the hyphen and a word: “BIM- based” instead of “BIM-based”.

* There is a typo in page 1 line 16: “a optimization” instead of “an optimization”.

* There is a typo in title of Section 3.4: “Positio” instead of “Position”.

* There is a typo in page 6 line 180: “soild” instead of “solid”.

* In page 6 line 180, unnecessary blank spaces were included for the quotation marks of the term “ anchor section length ” instead of “anchor section length”. The same situation is presented many times. Please, recheck the entire article.

* The font sizes of Figures 1-7, 9, and 10 are too small and should be increased.

* In general, the quality of the Figures should be increased.

* In Section 4.1, a schematic layout should be provided.

* In Table 1 and 2, units must be included, blank cells must be avoided by including appropriate legends, and specific ranges of inclination must be indicated in the correct form.

* Results presented in Table 1 and 2 should be analyzed/explained more in detail.

Minor editing of English language required.

Reviewer 2 Report

Dear authors,

The paper presents an interesting and potentially publishable piece of research that would be of interest to both the wider academic research community as well as stakeholder in the construction industry.

However, there are several areas in this study that needs to be enhanced. Please refer to the following comments:

1. Verification of structural stability is important for outside corner anchor rods, and evidence for this verification is also required. Authors should explain these on this paper. As authors stated in the abstract of this paper, the external angle of the foundation pit bears a greater load and is more prone to collapse.

2. Whole manuscript must be completely rewritten in order to upgrade it to cope with the international ACADEMIC standard. This is not a newspaper article.

3. In the introduction, authors stated that in recent years, China's modernization engineering construction has achieved great success in infrastructure construction. However, authors do not explain using references. Therefore, authors should explain this in detail using objective data.

4. There are very few reviews on previous papers. Previous studies or literature review section should be added.

5. All tables and figures in this paper should be explained in detail in an easy-to-understand manner for the reader.

6. There is no specific analysis of this study's results. In the results, it should be explained what the meaning of each number derived from the study is. And the authors should predict in detail why those numbers were derived.

Whole manuscript must be completely rewritten in order to upgrade it to cope with the international ACADEMIC standard. This is not a newspaper article.
