Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The format of manuscript does not fit to the format of journal.

The marks A,B,C,D,E should be moved from the corners in Fig.2 to other empty areas of the figure and enlarge the fonts to see better.

In Fig. 3 and 4 what are on the y-axes?

Why are the quantities for carbon isotope content negative?

The authors mentioned black fluorescence. Is it related to cases when there is not observable fluorescence?

It is unclear what frequencies mean in Fig. 9 by reading the text and what is the unit of frequency here?

By reading the text a lot of mistyping mistakes can be found so the authors should go through the entire text to correct them.

Author Response

1.The format of the manuscript has been adjusted to fit in with the journal.

2.The original figure 2 and the current figure 12 A, B, C, D, E have been moved to the blank area in the picture, and the font has been enlarged accordingly.

3.Figures 3 and 4 of the original manuscript and figures 2 and 3 of the current manuscript have added axes.

4.The carbon isotope content in this area is negative in itself.

5.Black fluorescence mainly refers to the asphalt observed under the microscope.

6.Original figure 9, now the frequency in figure 7 refers to the number of times a certain temperature occurs in a uniform temperature measurement, without a unit.

Dear authors,

Before publishing your paper, here are some recommendations to improve your manuscript:

1. The abstract should give more insights and be more concise, as well the Conclusions section.

2. The introduction needs to be updated and consider newer references on the same topic from the last years, 2022, 2023, and even 2024, as there are papers published online for 2024. This section needs to be completed.

3. Also, in the introduction, the goals of your research should be clearly stated and described.

4. I assume the next 2 sections are part of the Methodology. However, this should be organized as Methods and research methodology..

5. Also, section 4 needs to be clarified if it is part of the Method and research methodology section or part of The Experimental data and results.

6. The entire paper should be reorganized as Abstract, Introduction, Methodology, Experimental and Results. the Conclusions section should not be ordered (numbered).

7. The newer References should be considered and included.

8. The Conclusions need to be re-written and try to follow a red line and be more coherent.

9. The results should underling the novelty for this field and how will contribute to.

10. Please also mention the originality of your work when setting your scientific goals.

Good luck!

English needs to be revised, try to use special soft for English or use a native.

Author Response

1.The summary section has been modified.

2.The introduction has been revised.

3.The introduction part adds the research goal, the research purpose.

4.Section 4 of the original manuscript and part 5 of the current manuscript is the discussion part, which has been made clear in the article.

5.The full text has been reorganized in the order of abstract, introduction, method, experimental results, discussion and conclusion.

6.The full text has been reorganized according to the order of abstract, introduction, method, experimental results, discussion and conclusion, and the sort number is removed from the conclusion part.

7.The Resources section has been updated to some extent.

8.The conclusion has been revised.

9.Modifications have been made as required.

title form first look seems to be not clear and abbrivation are not recommanded

abstract is very long with several english grammers mistakets

Figure.1 label in line 58-59 need to be considered which looks same in all figures captions

introduction and geological background should be combined  and litreature should be indicated.

the main aim of this study need to be highlighted more clear

line 124 has diffrent style in writting

manuscript mainly lack of disscusion

Extensive editing of English language required

Author Response

The abstract has been revised in accordance with the requirements, and the purpose of the study has been clearly defined, and the ambiguities in the drawings have been modified at the same time.

The manuscript Periods and Process of Oil-Gas Accumulation in the HZ-A Structure “Double-Paleo” Resoriors Pearl River Mouth Basi, needs significant improvements.

Currently, however, researches on oil and gas accumulation in this area are of low levels what do you mean by low level, modify

the introduction is very poorly written, it should be rewritten, the previous research and research gap should be discussed clearly, add some examples for recent references in unconventional reservoirs in China (Pore structure characteristics of different lithofacies of the Longmaxi shale, Western Hunan‐Hubei Region, China: Implications for reservoir quality prediction. Geological Journal.)(Coupling relationship between current in-situ stress and natural fractures of continental tight sandstone oil reservoirs. Interpretation10(3), SF9-SF21.)( Diagenesis of continental tight sandstone and its control on reservoir quality: A case study of the Quan 3 member of the cretaceous Quantou Formation, Fuxin uplift, Songliao Basin. Marine and Petroleum Geology145, 105883.)(Xie, R., Zhou, W., Liu, C., Yin, S., Radwan, A. E., Lei, W., & Cai, W. (2022). Experimental investigation on dynamic and static rock mechanical behavior, failure modes, and sequences of frequent interbedded sand and shale reservoirs. Interpretation10(3), SF23-SF36.)(Sand-ratio distribution in an unconventional tight sandstone reservoir of Hangjinqi area, Ordos Basin: Acoustic impedance inversion-based reservoir quality prediction. Frontiers in Earth Science10, 1018105.)

add latitude and longitude to figure 1 maps, north arrow and scale to figure 1a

the manuscript should have materials and methods section?????????????

the manuscript structure should be re-organized

1- introduction

2- geological setting

3- materials and methods this part

4- results

5- discussions

the 5. Oil-gas accumulation factors needs more evidence for each element

english language needs enhancement

see report

Author Response

The full text has been revised according to the expert opinion, the original manuscript "the current low level of reservoir-forming research in this area" has been changed to the actual specific problems, and the introduction has been revised, at the same time, the problems involved in figure 1 are also revised, and the structure of the final manuscript is also reorganized according to the order of abstract, introduction, methods, experimental results, discussion and conclusion.

Round 2

Dear Authors,

Please see my previous comments and try to solve all the issues that I mentioned. You mentioned that you made all the recommendations, but this is not the case. For instance, I did not find any references from 2022-2024.

Good luck!

Please use Grammarly or other specific English tools to correct English.

Manuscript need to update cited reference and Figure.7 need to add error bars

Author Response

Figure 7 refers to the articles already published by CNOOC, as detailed in the literature.《Oil and gas accumulation characteristics and enrichment regularity in the Prepaleogene-Paleogene field of HZ26-6 structure in Pearl River Mouth Basin,China》,the frequency in figure 7 refers to the number of times a certain temperature occurs in a uniform temperature measurement, without a unit.

Dear authors,

Figure 3 needs to be improved, import all the figures (a-h) to a better resolution. Also, in the case of Figure 3, use the arrows for the axis Ox and Oy.

Regards,

I found some typo errors, a new spelling would help.
