Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The manuscript “Underwater Image Super-Resolution Via Dual-aware Integrated Network” by Aiye Shi, and Haimin Ding proposes a dual-aware integrated network (DAIN) comprising a series of dual-aware enhancement modules (DAME) for super-resolution (SR) reconstruction of underwater imagery.

The manuscript is quite interesting. The authors claim that their scheme achieves unique results, and their network can significantly enhance the accuracy of underwater SR and competitive performance while requiring fewer parameters compared to the traditional schemes. However, there must be an experimental validation for such a claim to be obvious although the benchmark data sets namely USR‑248 and 259 UFO-120 are used for analysis in this manuscript. These data sets are not sufficient to prove such a scheme in oceanic conditions. How are the authors going to address this issue? What are the underwater conditions at which the DAIN is developed and what are the underwater conditions at which the benchmark data sets are generated? What are the key challenges for an operation with high repeatability? It is important to mention the importance of all the parameters when the authors claim that their DAIN requires only fewer parameters compared to the traditional schemes. What are those few parameters and their supreme importance? Does it work in ocean water in different regions and different seabed conditions associated with different sea states and dynamics? Discussions on all these may be provided.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Article: Underwater Image Super-Resolution Via Dual-aware Integrated Network is referred. My comments are:

1. Literature Review can be further improved by summarizing most related studies vs the proposed method in a table form.

2. Please elaborate further on the proposed method, by stating whether it is novel or new or just modification from existing methods etc.

3. Experimental: Please add more images that really "Underwater images" and the method must be benefited to users especially those who are working in the same area.

4. Perhaps, implementation can be added into any public lib like GitHub etc.

5. Provide explanation and justification on why for scaling factor x 4, the results are not good as compared with scaling factor x 2? in Underwater studies, which upscaling factor(s) are necessary?

6. Methodology can be further improved.

7. Conclusion also must be rewritten and improve it!
