Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

1) Dear Authors from line 36 to line 41 some how the language is used by authors scientifically not approved or agreed. Although, the language used by authors are not technical for instance: Two axis- tracking system change Dual axis tracking (DAT) mechanism, one axis system change to fixed tracking.

2) line 40 I strongly disagree with  the authors view because there are only  three tracking system namely fixed tracking (FT) which is oriented to directly south pole, Single axis tracking which is oriented either from north to south or east to west, and DAT that is orientated to all side, Please change according to my recommendations. For more information authors can refer and also can cite  to: https://doi.org/10.3390/su141911880; https://doi.org/10.1016/j.seta.2020.100906

3) Please, I did not understand the objective can authors re-write it last section of Introduction

4) section 4: title must be results not result

5) Authors presented graphs. However, I did not see any proper Justification about the behavior of graphs? need to be expanded

6) Table 3: tracking method column  authors must add (SAT mechanism int the brakcets

7) conclusions must be expanded it look so tendious

8) Abstract must be re-written because some of the work is not matching with authors abstarct

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors explored the impact of the solar position algorithm on the performance of a parabolic trough solar system. The paper is quite interesting and informative. The paper is well written and presented. However, a few comments need to be addressed before accepting the manuscript for publication.

1. It is advised to improve the abstract by providing some details about the performance improvement of the trough collector using the proposed SPA.

2. In the introduction section, the authors have discussed very old literature related to the solar tracking algorithms. It is advised to add some recent works. A few recent works related to solar tracking are suggested below:

https://doi.org/10.1016/j.seta.2022.102989

https://doi.org/10.1007/978-981-19-4971-5_37

 https://doi.org/10.1115/1.4055995

https://doi.org/10.1016/j.seta.2022.102989

3. Write a separate paragraph at the end of the introduction section to explain what is new about this study.

4. Check line no. 94. What had the authors developed before?

5. Correct the heading 4 as "Results and Discussion."

6. In Figure 2, the probability density is demonstrated for the present study. The authors may add variations in the probability density of the current study into this figure.

7. It is advised to explain whether the present study is also suitable for other kinds of CSP.
