Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript is about an extensive studies on the waste fruit pomace. Author tried to attempt to scientifically validate the fruit berry etc. pomace as breakfast rich in antioxidants etc. but other contaminant chances using pomace due to infected skin etc is neglected during the studies. Need minor revisions.

Author is talking about bioactive?? where as manuscript is about antioxidants of extracts/pomace so it is nt corelating

what about shelf life of fruit pomace. The use of pomace as ingredient need to address the nutritional value of the it. author only gave emphasis on antioxidant activity polyphenolics etc nothing new in it.

If author focuses on nutritional potential addition to polyphenol and also antibacterial potentials give more support to  paper

Line 622 Ref 1: The FAO, 2011 Reference is a decade old where as the recent studies of FAO 2022 are also focused on same lines, pls update it

Line 630 Ref 5: One author is missing in complete reference 5 i.e. Areczuk Anna, kindly incorporate

References are not as per format, somewhere the journal name is in abbreviation (Line 643 n 650) and some where the complete journal name kindly check and correct…

Line 641-642 – Ref. 9 is in polish language either translate it of write (in polish ) in bracket in the end of reference.

Line 643: incomplete journal name in the Ref. 10

Line 648 Ref. 12 the year mentioned in the reference is wrong it is 2006 instead of 2000, pls correct it

Line 650 Ref 13 the journal name is abbreviated, plant binomial name is not in italics

Overall the manuscript need minor revisions.

It was corrected according to reviewer suggestions. Chemical composition was added to tables 1 and3, and was discussed in the manuscript.

Dried pomaces were used in this research, therefore they were microbiologically stable

The authors made great efforts in the manuscript titled " The fruit pomaces as a source of bioactive compounds in extruded gluten-free snacks " but there are some comments that must be taken into account. in the following there are general comments:-

1- the present work is the lake of using advanced analytical techniques like LC-MS to identify the profile of different polyphenolic compounds and I believe that such analysis will strongly support the discussion

2- the fruit pomaces are generally considered an essential source of minerals, so why did you not measure the mineral content in this study? additionally, the processed pomaces may contain heavy metals which must be measured, so I think it will be beneficial if the mineral content is determined by which of advanced methods ( ICP or Atomic absorbance).

- There are other comments in the attached file please check the file and respond to those comments at highlighted parts in the manuscript

We would like to thank you for your kind suggestions. This manuscript was based on preliminary tests, aiming to select the best pomace for snacks enrichment. Further research would be focused on chokeberry pomaces, which are intended to enrich gluten-free snacks, and in next manuscript both qulity and quantity profiles of polyphenols (made by HPLC) as well as ASA method will be applied. Also total antioxidant capacity of samples will be done by using cell line.
