Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Dear authors

The paper is well written and structured. The study is interesting and adequate to the state-of-the-art. The power internet of thinks is detailed is this paper and its impact on smartgrids is analyzed. This seems to be an adequate paper to support further studies. However, is not very easy to find the novel function of research process based on PIoT.

The systematization of the information provided is adequate and understandable but is not clearly referred the impact of PIoT on demand response dynamic pricings strategies, for example. This is referred in the abstract but only can be inferred from the paper, in my opinion.

In my point of view more focus should be given to the paper objectives highlighting the novel function of research process, because there is a detailed list of things that contribute to this novel function of research process, but is not straightforward see it. For example, this paper could be improved if there is an easy and direct way to see the objectives stated by authors in lines 154-157.

The figures presented could be improved, by adding some details about the legends and elements used. They are common to whom are familiar with the topic, but the paper is a document available to everyone a to every knowledge domain. Consider this comment to improve Fig.2 information. Also:

Line 373: After figure 6, I believe that could be useful to clarify the acronyms NFVI, VMs, etc

Line 496-497: please, explain how does the figure 9 is related with the text and what conclusions could be drawn?

Also you should give more information about the case studies analyzed that gave support to the paper, namely regarding the impact of communications and all the interoperability layers shown figure 8.

Some minor English revision is needed because some sentences are hard to understand. It seems misspelling but correction is needed, (Line 134-135: Can you please clarify this sentence? )also check units watts should be Watts, for instance.

The references described in the paper references section are in line with paper context. However, the check of each reference used with the reference content was not considered in this review.

Conclusions are general and this paper can be improved if conclusions were directed and accurate regarding the lines 154-157. In addition, draw more conclusion about the elements analyzed in figures and tables that were used along the text.

Thank you.

The paper is very well written and the language used is adequate.  The only note is related with line 134-135. I belive that the word is aimed instead of amid...

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

1) I hope the authors refer to papers available at the website with the URL https://ietresearch.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1049/rpg2.12808 , discussing the differences in agricultural energy systems regarding the Internet of Things (IoT) and load-side control to enhance the research in this paper.

2) The paper should address the challenges and issues faced by the electric power Internet of Things:

3) The paper should not simply list the findings of individual studies in Table 1. Instead, it needs to summarize and generalize the common problems and solutions identified in these studies.
