This work deals with low-emissivity (low-e) glass. The authors proposed a methodology that can effectively decrease energy consumption of buildings.

THE WHOLE WORK IS INERESTING

POINTS FOR IMPROVEMENT:

1. Please, make a patent literature review on the field.

2. Please, update the references. Most of the work cited are before 2020. A literature search made by the reviewer by using the keywords provided by the authors revealed references after 2020.

3. What are the limitations of the method proposed in this work? Please, propose ideas for future work.

4. Minor point: Please give the degree of purity of the reagents used.

Title: Regulating Monolayer Aligned Silver Nanowire coating for 2 Energy-Saving Windows

Manuscript ID: coatings-1955641

Decision: Minor Revision

At the outset, I appreciate the authors for their contribution towards the Silver Nanowire coating for 2 Energy-Saving Windows. Although the work is novel, some possible corrections make the article more informative and easily understandable to a researcher.

a.       There are significant concerns about the grammar, usage, and overall readability of the manuscript. Therefore, request is to revise the text to fix the grammatical errors and improve the overall readability of the text before this work is considered for publication.

b.      Would you explicitly specify the novelty of your work? What progress against the most recent state-of-the-art similar studies was made?

c.       The literature review section should be improved. It should be dedicated to present critical analysis of state-of-the-art related work to justify the objective of the study. Also, critical comments should be made on the results of the cited works.

d.      Add some details about Large Eddy Simulation in the novelty paragraph.

e.       Give the nomenclature for the betterment of the manuscript and understanding of the reader.

A number of frame types and materials are available for energy-efficient windows. The efficiency of a window's energy performance is determined by how well these materials block the passage of heat, and how much sunlight goes through the glass, and how little air might leak around the window. In the present manuscript, a new type of metal (silver nanowire) is inserted with a special type of glass for purpose of energy saving. The simple, inexpensive, and aligned Ag NW coatings for Low-E glass present a new opportunity for minimizing the energy use in conventional windows. This communication has the potential to be accepted in the coatings journal after modifications. The following modifications are suggested:

1- The abstract should describe the purpose of the study, the methods you have used, and the conclusion you have drawn. Therefore, I recommend to re-write the abstract in a more professional way to attract the reader.

2- The importance of this study should be inserted as an individual section to show how will it contribute to or add up to the existing body of knowledge.

3- The introduction section needs to improve by adding some other related studies.

4- Some references from the coating journal should be included because the scope of this journal is relevant to this topic.

5- Are there any other applications for Ag NW rather than windows? why do authors select this type of nanomaterials while there are many other promising metallic nanostructures? Could the authors comment on that?

6- Do authors believe that the nanocoating of glass windows is cheaper than the Low-E glass coatings with argon or krypton gas filled in between windowpanes? Economically which method is better?

The authors provide detailed analysis of the silver nanowire coating for energy-saving windows. The paper clarify that obtained results are reliable and accurate enough. I feel that it would be intriguing part for the readers.

Overall, the work conducted is worthy of publication in high quality journal. My specific points about this paper can be found below:

Abstract of the paper should be modified by adding novel findings.

All the parameters should be added in nomenclature section.

Improve the quality of the paper by fixing some typos errors.

More discussion on the novelty of the article should be added to conclusions section.

Some recent studies of Coatings should be cited at appropriate places.

I believe that the above changes will certainly add value to already well documented contribution by the authors.
