Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors present a numerical simulation with an experimental validation procedure for investigating the Gas distribution on an Annulus submerged Jet on sealing degree of mixing zone. The aforementioned manuscript presents an interesting research topic with application in fluid mechanics. I recommend this manuscript for publication. I have only minor suggestions to make.

1 Please write in section 3 the material assumptions for the jet itself. Namely if Linear Elastic Analysis is assumed or not and the material constants chosen and please explain the choice.

2 Please make a comment in the introduction if there is a stochastic investigation of this physical problem. If so, please add at least a line or two to make it and give citations.

Reviewer 2 Report

Dear Authors,

This manuscript is a good representation of the mixing phenomenon between 2 fluids and the effect of volume fraction in suction of the nozzle. The approach is scientifically sound and the results presented are very clear.

If you could provide explanation to the below questions/comments, that would be valuable for the readers.

1) The abstract is a bit circular in description. Simplify and use linear sentence structure to describe the findings.

2) Energy cannot be lost so rephrase it as 'dissipated'

3) I like the numerical error compared to experimental. However to further provide more details please include a cross section mesh of the annular nozzle showing the boundary layer grid, y+ values. Also, it is always good to do a grid dependency study to show that the grid density has reached a point where it does not affect the simulation results.

4) When you say 0MPa inlet/outlet pressure, please mention if it is gauge or absolute.

5) Could you add vorticity plots as well similar to figure 4 or 6? This will show the mixing from a vortex point of view.

After these minor change, the manuscript is ready for acceptance.
