Kinetic Study of Fungal Growth of Several Tanninolytic Strains Using Coffee Pulp Procyanidins
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
I have pointed out the following points as review
- The title is included coffee Pulp Procyanidin, but there is no description in the manuscript.
- I can't understand e-ut in equation (1). Please add a description.
- Why total sugars are smaller than reducing sugar at figure?

Reviewer 2 Report
In the manuscript, the authors evaluated the ability of degrading procyanidin by different fungal strains. Control treatments without adding procyanidin to compare with procyanidin addition were properly performed, so changes with the fungal treatment are clear. It is also sound to add procyanidin after complete glucose utilization, so that the effect of glucose can be minimized. This research is significant and showed some clearly interesting results that all the fungal strains were capable of consuming procyanidin and converted it into their biomass.
The design of experiment, methods, results and discussion are appropriate and relevant to the problem that the research was to address. However, some minor issues need to be pay attention to and revised before publication.
Line 71, “Aspergillus fumigatus” should be italic
Line 107, could you explain why use a solution of milk for fungal strain storage?
Line 187-204, There is no discussion of data on section 3.1. I would suggest moving the section 3.1 to the end of Introduction.
Line 205, 284, 354, 431, 484, please make the title more informative, not just the fungal strain
Line 222, the citation format is not consistent with others
The figures should be made more compact. It would be better to combine Fig. 1, Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 into one big figure and put each single figure as subfigure.
One more paragraph is needed at the end of the manuscript to compare these fungal strains in terms of their ability to grow and degrade procyanidin, and which fungal strain would be preferred.
