Review# ”The role of fuel characteristics and heat release formulations in coupled fire-atosphere simulation”

The authors provided some methods to improve the fire model of WRF model, such as adding the parametrization on calculate heat of canopy fuels, improving the formulation to fire-generated heat fluxes and improving the descriptions on fire smoke tracers, there some questions and suggestions to the manuscript:

1.      In result section, except for figures, there requires some tables to demonstrated the simulation difference

2.      In figure demonstrations, fig 5 and 10 are described on different vertical cross sections, what was the basis for the different profiles, in other words, why select these cross section to be demonstrated?

3.      Different with figs 5 and 10, why the smoke concertation figure (i.e., fig6, 8, and 11) use a vertical cross sections rather than different location profiles like figs 5 and 10.

4.      I suggestion, adding some validation comparisons on sensible and latent heat fluxes.
