MATERIAIS 2022

Marinha Grande, Portugal | 10–13 April 2022

Volume Editors:
Geoffrey Mitchell, Polytechnic of Leiria, Portugal
Nuno Alves, Polytechnic of Leiria, Portugal
Carla Moura, Polytechnic of Leiria, Portugal
Joana Coutinho, Polytechnic of Leiria, Portugal

Cover Story: This volume contains abstracts from MATERIAIS 2022, which continues the long-standing and well-established MATERIAIS congresses, promoted by the Portuguese Materials Society. The 20th Congresso took place in the historic center of Marinha Grande, Portugal, from 10 to 13 April 2022, organized by the Centre of Rapid and Sustainable Product Development, of the Polytechnic of Leiria.
MATERIAIS 2022 recognizes that we are on the cusp of the 4th Industrial Revolution, which will fundamentally alter the way we work, live, and relate to one another. The convergence of physical, digital, and biological sciences will lead to profound changes in the way that we design products, produce them, and the materials that they are formed of, including metals, ceramics, glass, polymers, biological materials, or composites.
