Title: Unveiling the Potential of Spirulina Biomass - A Glimpse into the Future Circular Economy Using Green-Blue Ingredients

Dear Editor,

We thank the reviewers for their valuable comments and suggestions for our manuscript. We have modified the manuscript according to the recommendations, and the detailed, point-by-point corrections are listed below. The modifications requested were extremely important to improve our work. All sentences/words listed below are highlighted in the revised version of the manuscript.

Reviewer 1:

Comment: This study aims to explore the functional and technological Spirulina biomass and their components, such as C-Phycocyanin (C-PC), in modern food systems from a circular economy perspective. This comprehensive review also delves into the studies conducted and highlights the vital importance through the lens of food science intertwined with the principles of the circular economy, although spirulina typically serves as a supplement. That is, this work is interesting and can be published after minor modifications.

Response: The authors appreciate the opportunity to improve the manuscript.

Comment: The title should preferably be as follows

Unveiling the Potential of Spirulina Biomass - A Glimpse into the Future Circular Economy Using Green-Blue Ingredients

Response: The change was made, as requested.

Comment: The authors should explain to non-specialists what Spirulina is and what its benefits and harms are

Response: The information was added as requested.

Comment: In order to achieve Figure 1, it must be divided into Figures 2 and 3 instead of 1A and 1B.

Response: The figure was improved.

Comment: The authors should explain the exploited potential of Spirulina as an essential food ingredient and present its characteristics

Response: The information was added as requested.

Comment: In line number 143, Table 2 must be amended. As Table 1, this table lacks a lot of modern science that can be added and discussed in a sound scientific discussion of the use of Spirulina in abundant food products.

Response: The table was carefully improved.

Comment: There is no doubt that the vibrant color of C-PC makes it sensory acceptable. The authors should explain innovative functional methods supported by shapes or tables for colored foods, for example green/blue ones, in the food industry.

Response: It was included a figure illustrating 3D printing food and electrospinning as innovative methods.

Comment: Authors must carefully review the English language and grammar and correct some errors contained in the review.

Response: The English language was carefully revised.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

1. Figure 1 is difficult to read. Please replace with a high-resolution image.

2. More context is needed to summarize the challenges of applying C-PC in food markets, i.e., Line 171-176 should be elaborated and added to the end paragraph of section 3.1. There have been studies reported to improve the stability of C-PC.

 3. Line 146-150 is confusing and needs revision. Is fresh biomass less processed for saving electricity? What are "both formulations" in line 149? "Thus" seems not appropriately used in the context.

4. Please define/explain "brown tonality" in line 156. Isn't it conflicted with "preserved C-PC color" in line 157?

5. Line 160 needs revision. Why "bioactive compound loss" is mentioned in the paragraph of talking about color after baking? What are so-called " simple methods"?

6. Line 305-306 needs revision. The trails were performed to understand what? The purity grade is of what? What does "anti-melanoma components exerted by C-PC" mean?

Comments on the Quality of English Language

Proofreading is required. Some sentences are confusing such as Line 361-362 : "they have in the case of Spirulina itself, for example". Not sure what do authors trying to say.
