Current Research in Companion Animals Dentistry and Oral Surgery

Dear Colleagues,

Over recent decades, dentistry has flourished as a specialized and substantial part of clinical veterinary medicine, with an increased academic, economical, and scientifical interest. However, there are important knowledge gaps due to either technical, investment, and research barriers. From this point of view, the increase in and sharing of knowledge in core areas of veterinary dentistry, such as periodontology, endodontics, and the surgery of non-neoplastic and neoplastic processes, are crucial for the evolution of this area. In this context, it is also vital to share knowledge with human dentistry, in the context of comparison and mutual learning. This Special Issue aims to showcase original research articles, reviews, analysis methods, perspectives, and novel findings in veterinary patients that might contribute to an increase in knowledge on dentistry in companion animals.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Animals is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
