Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue, "Plant Antioxidants, Lipid Metabolism and Metabolic Diseases", will focus on the vital role that plant-derived antioxidants play in regulating lipid metabolism, and their impact on metabolic diseases. The global prevalence of metabolic diseases, such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disorders, has risen sharply, remaining a health issue despite the development of new medications. Plant antioxidants, including polyphenols, flavonoids, and other bioactive compounds, are known to relieve oxidative stress, which is a major driver of metabolic dysfunction. Lipid metabolism plays a central role in these diseases, as the dysregulation of lipid storage, breakdown, and utilization leads to insulin resistance, inflammation, and other metabolic disturbances. The aim of this Special Issue, "Plant Antioxidants, Lipid Metabolism and Metabolic Diseases", is to bring together studies on the molecular mechanisms through which plant antioxidants modulate lipid metabolism, highlighting both preclinical and clinical studies that demonstrate their potential in preventing or managing metabolic diseases. Additionally, it will cover advances in understanding how specific plant compounds influence lipid storage, breakdown, and utilization, offering novel insights into therapeutic interventions.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Antioxidants is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
