Dear Colleagues,
Our previous Special Issue entitled "Natural Antioxidants: Multiple Mechanisms for Skin Protection" received an overwhelming number of submissions and represented a successful compilation of research and review articles. As this is a rapidly evolving topic, we would like to further explore the role of natural antioxidants in skin protection with a follow-up Special Issue in the year 2024.
Our last edition primarily included mechanistic studies on the protection offered by natural antioxidants in the skin. These studies were facilitated by various advanced biophysical and biochemical technologies, which enabled researchers to address the challenges in this field thoroughly. In the current edition, we encourage the submission of studies that utilize sophisticated experimental methods, such as ‘multi-omics’ approaches (including genomics, epigenomics, proteomics, lipidomics, metabolomics, and microbiomics), to investigate the protective effects of antioxidants for the skin.
Herein, this Special Issue (SI), entitled Natural Antioxidants: Multiple Mechanisms for Skin Protection—2nd Edition, aims to encourage researchers to showcase their studies related to the skin protection offered by natural antioxidants. The scope of this Special Issue includes (but is not limited to) the following research topics: (1) evaluations of natural antioxidants’ protective effects on the skin; (2) investigations of the mechanisms of action; (3) the discovery of the molecular target(s) of action; and (4) the use of natural antioxidants and their derivatives as therapeutic agents and/or cosmeceutical ingredients. We welcome the submission of research articles, reviews, perspectives, and communications.
