Advances in E-Learning and Digital Learning: Applications in Medical Education and Training
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Background and Aims of the Special Issue
Digital transformation is reshaping the way knowledge is generated, disseminated, and applied. In higher education and professional training, e-learning and digital learning have become central drivers of innovation, enabling more interactive, flexible, and learner-centered approaches. Particularly in the context of medical education and continuing professional development, digital tools play a decisive role in supporting the acquisition of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and clinical decision-making competencies.
This Special Issue aims to bring together research contributions and practice-oriented perspectives that highlight recent advances in e-learning and digital learning, with a specific focus on their applications in medical education and training. Of particular interest are approaches that integrate imaging and visualization technologies, simulation-based training, and digital platforms that contribute to more effective, sustainable, and outcome-oriented learning.
Scope and Topics of Interest
We invite original research articles, reviews, and case studies addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
- Advances in e-learning platforms and digital learning environments
- Innovative teaching and training methodologies in medical and health education
- Applications of imaging and visualization technologies in digital learning
- Simulation-based learning and immersive technologies (VR/AR/XR) in medicine
