Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The curtain wall facade is the most widespread system for building glass facades. The design of the curtain walls and ventilated facades is generally based on existing system solutions available at the building market. Each curtain wall and ventilated facade system is limited, showing some advantages and disadvantages. Some projects introduce the systems of individual solutions to meet the challenges of designed modern and extraordinary buildings. Individual solutions require additional structural analysis and laboratory tests to avoid design or construction problems and defects during exploitation. In several cases, it is necessary to incorporate scientific and engineering communities to evaluate the performance of curtain walls and ventilated facades.
The Special Issue is intended to provide an exchange of experience in the experimental and implementation field between scientists, civil and building engineers, and designers. Therefore, this Special Issue calls for papers related (but not limited) to the following areas:
- Analysis and design of curtain wall and ventilated facade systems;
- Problems associated with curtain walls and ventilated façade;
- New solutions for curtain wall and ventilated facade systems;
- Energy efficiency of glazing systems;
- Safety analysis of curtain wall and ventilated facade systems;
- Support structures and brackets;
- Sustaining capability;
- New fire protection in curtain wall and ventilated facade systems;
- Steel and aluminum structures.
