Cells invites submissions for a Special Issue focusing on the transformative integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and CRISPR technologies in advancing disease modeling and therapeutic innovation. This issue aims to explore molecular mechanisms and cell biology insights that drive precision medicine.

Key Themes

1. AI-Driven CRISPR Design

• Machine learning for optimizing guide RNAs (gRNAs), predicting off-target effects, and enhancing base/prime editing efficiency.
• Computational tools like DeepCRISPR and CRISTA for improving editing precision.

Precision Gene Therapy

• CRISPR applications in correcting genetic mutations such as those causing sickle cell anemia or cystic fibrosis.
• Engineering CAR-T/NK cells for targeted cancer therapies.

AI-Enhanced Disease Modeling

• Leveraging multi-omics data and deep learning to identify genetic drivers of diseases such as cancer subtypes or neurodegenerative disorders.

Submission Guidelines

• Manuscript Types: Original research articles and reviews. Research articles must involve cell-based experiments.
• Focus: Mechanistic insights, preclinical validations, or computational breakthroughs.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
