Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Corruption and criminal activties are regarded as major impedments to the economic growth and development. The main determinant of corruption and crime is the inefficiency of the political and state institutions. One of the most important effect is the influence that private and public illegal activities has on the development of local “good” social norms and on individuals’ social capital. Both the cause and the effects of corruption and crime constitute an established area of the economic literature, with a specific interest for Game Theoretical models.

In this Special issue we will try to bring together two different methodologies of investigation, the empirical and the behavioral analyses of corruption and crime.

We welcome contributions falling in each area and papers which present an interdisciplinary approach. Furthermore, gender analyses on these topics will be hghly appreciated.
