Dear Colleagues,
The psychosocial dimension of human traumatic experiences has received special attention in recent years with a global pandemic of refugee crises arising from wars in Afghanistan, Burma, Syria, Yemen, and Ukraine. The concepts used to understand trauma have been evolving from individual perspectives to holistic conceptions that inevitably involve groups and communities. In this Special Issue, we hope to collect the views of researchers who investigate traumatic phenomena, including views that go beyond the merely pathological. We encourage the submission of papers that seek to understand the psychosocial consequences of traumatic phenomena in cultural, political, social, and economic contexts, without forgetting the centrality of the subjective gaze of those facing the impact of traumatic experiences. Conceptual approaches can include, but are not limited to, the following: altered worldviews, collective trauma, hardiness, post-traumatic growth, power threat meaning framework, resilience, sense of coherence, shattered assumptions theory, and trauma-informed care.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
