Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

At present, gynecological neoplasms are one of the leading causes of death in women. Many environmental factors contribute to the pathophysiology of these tumors. Despite significant progress in early detection and new therapeutic pathways, gynecological neoplasms remain a significant problem that affects the quality of life and proper functioning after the completion of the therapeutic process. Therapeutic success does not only consist of the early implementation of appropriate treatment, such as surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy. Another extremely important issue is the provision of adequate care and nursing. This significantly influences the adequate course of convalescence and allows for a high quality of life and quality of sexual life to be maintained after treatment. In addition, the implementation of high-level nursing greatly contributes to a quick return to work, which has an additional positive effect on psychological comfort and does not eliminate the patient from social life. In addition to gynecological cancers, breast cancer is one of the key diseases that affect women. Caring for a patient with this condition requires additional commitment. Apart from physical influence, breast cancer greatly impairs the quality of life and affects the quality of the sex sphere of patients, especially if they have undergone mastectomy. Such patients, apart from the treatment of the underlying disease, require increased nursing care to restore their pre-disease quality of life as soon as possible.

This Special Issue focuses on quality of life and nursing among gynecological patients. New research papers, reviews, case reports and conference papers are welcome for submission to this issue, as well as papers dealing with new approaches to derive proper pathways to ensure a better quality of life after gynecological procedures, especially in oncological patients. Additionally, publications on the care of pregnant patients with oncological diseases are welcome.
