Dear Colleagues,
The therapeutic efficiency of cancer treatment can be maximized using molecules that can modulate radiation effects as DNA repair inhibitors. These molecules have specific cellular targets, such as Poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase-1 (PARP1), which are involved in DNA repair and can represent a new era for cancer therapy. This Special Issue of IJMS focuses on the latest developments in the synthesis of new DNA repair inhibitors and in the encapsulation of DNA repair inhibitor molecules on organic or inorganic nanoparticles, with biocompatibility, biodegradability, and low toxicity, to maximize the delivery of the DNA repair inhibitor molecules to cancer cells. This Special Issue, “Inhibitors of PARP to Kill Cancer Cells”, invites and encourages you to prepare review articles and full-length papers that explore the synthesis, the encapsulation, and the effect on cells in the presence of radiation of DNA repair inhibitor molecules. Moreover, papers providing new insights into the mechanisms associated with the role of the DNA repair inhibitor molecules on cancer cells are also encouraged.
