Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a relatively common sexual dysfunction disease, which greatly affects the quality of life of patients and their partners. There are several options for treating ED, and alternative treatments for ED are growing in popularity. Dietary supplements are mixtures of active ingredients, and there is a long history of using plant extracts or other nutraceuticals to enhance male sexual performance. Additionally, Ayurveda and other alternative medicines around the world have long used herbal medicine to help improve symptoms associated with ED.

It is worth noting that ED can be a sign of underlying health conditions, such as endocrine and non-communicable diseases. Modifiable risk factors include overweight/obesity, insulin resistance, diabetes, atherosclerosis, and hypertension, as well as harmful lifestyle factors.

This Special Issue focuses on the cellular or molecular mechanisms of dietary supplements in the treatment of erectile dysfunction in order to provide more possible therapeutic targets.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. International Journal of Molecular Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. There is an Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal.
