Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the research topics that attract a lot of attention from healthcare system researchers. Compared to traditional machine learning methods, deep learning algorithms demonstrate their ability to train models from large datasets and images.

The computational capacity of Artificial Intelligence models has enabled fast, accurate, and efficient operations in the molecular sciences. Artificial Intelligence is transforming patient care and plays a fundamental role in medical systems. Computer vision, natural language processing, and reinforcement learning are the most used AI techniques in the molecular sciences.

The need for progress in both biology and medicine across various fields and areas of practice requires this new technology for data processing and analysis. Proper analysis and the ability to generate new knowledge result in better patient management and a deeper understanding of diseases, and provide new avenues for molecular modeling and simulation, materials discovery, analysis of biological sequence data, computational chemistry, bioinformatics, and genomics, facilitating improved personalized management in each situation.

This Special Issue on “Application of Artificial Intelligence in Molecular Sciences” will focus on research works on the latest applications of machine and deep learning in data analysis in different areas of the molecular sciences. The topics of interest for this Special Issue include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Data analytics in molecular sciences;
  • Medical imaging;
  • Protein structure prediction;
  • Biomedical diagnostic techniques;
  • Personalized medical treatments;
  • Molecular dynamics simulation;
  • Predictive modeling for improving healthcare;
  • Medical decision support systems;
  • Multimodal data processing and analysis for smart health;
  • Medical systems based on big data and artificial intelligence;
  • Artificial intelligence;
  • Drug discovery;
  • Other related topics regarding machine learning, deep learning, and biomedical engineering.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. International Journal of Molecular Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. There is an Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal. For details about the APC please see here. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
