Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to announce a call for participation in our upcoming Special Issue on the 'State of the Art in Interventional Cardiology'. This Special Issue aims to highlight the recent advances and future directions in this rapidly evolving field.

Interventional cardiology has seen a significant transformation over the years, with technology playing a pivotal role. The advent of novel devices and innovative techniques has redefined what is possible for treating heart disease. Recent successes include advancements in intravascular imaging, novel devices for percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs) such as drug-coated balloons, intravascular lithotripsy, and bioresorbable vascular scaffolds, advanced 3D imaging for complex coronary and structural disease, and significant strides in our ability to treat structural heart disease. These include transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), transcatheter pulmonary valve replacement (TPVR), transcatheter mitral valve repair (TMVR), and tricuspid valve coaptation devices.

We invite submissions that explore, but are not limited to, the following thematic fields:

  1. Technological Advances: Papers that delve into the impact of technology on interventional cardiology, including the use of advanced imaging and novel devices in the clinic.
  2. Structural Heart Disease: Research focusing on the advances in treating structural heart disease, such as TAVI, TPVR, TMVR, and tricuspid valve coaptation devices.
  3. Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI): Studies that explore the recent advancements in PCI and its impact on the treatment of coronary artery disease.
  4. Intravascular Imaging: Submissions that discuss the role and advancements in intravascular imaging techniques in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases.
  5. Vascular Access: Articles that focus on the latest techniques, challenges, and solutions in vascular access for interventional cardiology procedures.
  6. Future Directions: Articles that discuss the anticipated changes that new technology will bring to interventional cardiology.

We look forward to receiving your contributions to this Special Issue and for the opportunity to further our understanding of the state of the art in interventional cardiology. Let us shape the future of cardiac care together!

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Journal of Clinical Medicine is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
