Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a critical health challenge that affects both people and healthcare systems. CAD leads to arterial narrowing and obstruction, resulting in severe problems such as heart attacks and heart failure. Collaborative efforts by researchers, professionals, and governments have generated discussions regarding the control and management of this cardiovascular state. The evolution of CAD management encompasses contemporary diagnostics, cutting-edge medications, invasive treatments, lifestyle adjustments, and cardiac rehabilitation. This comprehensive approach strives to amplify outcomes and enhance the quality of life for patients affected by CAD.

This Special Issue of the Journal of Clinical Medicine will address the following:

  • Diagnostic technologies enabling early detection and risk assessment.
  • Recent advancements in drugs that drastically ameliorate platelet disorders, lipid reduction, and angina.
  • Advances in invasive treatments, notably percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG).
  • The significance of lifestyle changes and cardiac rehabilitation in CAD management.
  • Therapeutic options and patient recovery and rehabilitation.
  • Medications and supplements.
  • Recent advancements in lipids modifications – Lp(α).
  • Smoking, second-hand smoke and the cessation of e-cigarettes.
  • Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).
  • Research on the design of new avenues in CAD therapy, from breakthrough medications to collaborative multidisciplinary care paradigms.

In this review, novel medicines, significant breakthroughs, and contemporary developments in clinical practices that collectively influence CAD care are discussed.
