Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The progress of minimally invasive cardiac surgery and structural interventional cardiology is remarkable.
More and more cardiovascular diseases are now treatable through less traumatic procedures and patients once considered inoperable now have the opportunity to receive treatment. On the other hand, the planning of procedures is at least as important as carrying out the procedures themselves. In most cases, the planning of the procedures is based on morphological, visible and measurable aspects. This shows that real images, whether radiographic, ultrasound or otherwise, have a fundamental role today in the treatment of cardiovascular pathologies. As such, we have planned this Special Issue of JCM, as images in cardiovascular medicine are not only fundamental for diagnosis but also for the treatment itself and therapeutic planning. Multi-modality imaging is crucial for the management of valve patients. This Special Issue is therefore open to images that present a particular anatomy and/or are crucial to their diagnostic and planning power. Orignal articles, reviews and "rare" images are welcome if useful for readers and their subsequent daily clinical practice.
