Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Macroeconomic forecasting is one of the most challenging areas in both applied and theoretical econometrics. This Special Issue of the Journal of Risk and Financial Management aims to reflect on the current state-of-the-art in various aspects of macroeconomic forecasting. Papers addressing both the applied and theoretical dimensions in macroeconomic forecasting, including the link between the financial and commodity markets and macroeconomic activity, are invited for submission to this Special Issue. Papers on the theory and practice of forecast evaluation, forecasting performance at different frequencies (annual, quarterly, monthly, etc.), forecasting performance of time series versus structural econometric models, role seasonal adjustment in forecasting and forecast evaluation are especially welcome. In addition, forecasting practitioners in the industry are encouraged to submit papers to share their experiences and their problems with the practice of forecasting in a business setting. These papers will be considered for publication under the “Practitioner’s Corner” Section of the Special Issue.
