Best PhD Thesis Award

Dear Colleagues,

As Editor-in-Chief of Materials, I am pleased to announce the winner of the Matertials 2021 Best Ph.D. Thesis Award in recognition of a Ph.D. student who has produced a highly anticipated academic potential thesis.

The award has been granted to the following thesis and its author:
“Electrocatalysis of oxygen reduction on non-precious metal catalysts” by Mr. Sander Ratso, University of Tartu, Estonia.

The winner will receive CHF 800, a certificate, and the opportunity to publish a paper free of charge in Materials before the end of 2023.
