Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury is the most common sports-related injury in the knee joint. To date, the most commonly preferred treatment for ACL injuries is known as ACL reconstruction, because 17.5% (±15.5%) of those with ACL injuries receiving conservative treatment experience failure, and eventually, surgery is required.

Nevertheless, several studies report no difference in functional outcomes between surgical and conservative treatment. These results are worth researching with interest in various clinical-related fields.

Despite the surgical and conservative treatment advances, it is still difficult to determine the most effective and appropriate treatment for a patient.

In this Special Issue of Medicina, we welcome comparative studies of various clinical or functional outcomes in surgical and conservative treatment in ACL injuries in various fields, such as orthopedics, rehabilitation medicine, physiotherapy, sports medicine, etc.
