Panhellenic Federation of Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders (PFADRD)
The Panhellenic Federation of Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2007. The Panhellenic Federation consists of 53 linked associations of Alzheimer’s disease across Greece. Its’ main objective is the coordination and cooperation of companies—members in the context of the social contribution and awareness of patients with dementia and their caregivers’ needs. Its’ aims are the creation of structures, services, and conditions that improve the quality of life of patients and their carers; the promotion of research by running numerous European and Greek research programs; education and training for all stakeholders; and the provision of useful information and advice on issues in dementia and the prevention of the marginalization of people with dementia.
With the aim of accurately informing and educating the public, speeches and seminars are regularly organized either online or in-person, throughout Greece, in various Senior Citizens' Centers, conference halls, churches, nursing homes, universities, and anywhere where there is interest in holding such events. Every two years, the Panhellenic Interdisciplinary Alzheimer's Conference and the Mediterranean Conference on Neurodegenerative Diseases are held, while scientific seminars on topics related to dementia and research are frequently organized. The Panhellenic Federation of Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders participates in global and European conferences, as well as in almost all medical and psychological conferences both in Greece and internationally.
