How Do Hormones Control Nutrient Intake and Energy Regulation?

Dear Colleagues,

Hormones play an important role in nutrient intake, digestion, and absorption, as well as in the regulation of energy balance and body composition. Since obesity and associated metabolic imbalances represent major medical problems in the US and globally, and given that their prevention and treatment present significant economic and personal challenges, having a clear understanding of the role of these key metabolic hormones in the control of nutrient choice and intake is of utmost importance. This Special Issue invites research articles and reviews that expand our understanding of the actions of leptin, insulin, GIP, GLP-1, and ghrelin in food choices and intake and how they interact with dietary components or patterns to influence body composition and overall energy regulation.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
