Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to announce that the Pharmaceutics journal will feature Special Issue on radiopharmaceuticals titled “Innovative Approaches to Radiopharmaceuticals: Advances in Design, Labeling, and Applications”. We eagerly anticipate your manuscript submissions and look forward to including them in this Special Issue after the review process.

The emergence of employing radionuclides in imaging and treating cancer in the form of radiotracers has revolutionized the oncology field in many aspects, including their ability to non-invasively visualize tumors, selectively deliver the activity to the tumor sites, be used in personalized treatment (tailored medicine), and provide functional information at a cellular and molecular level. Their emergence has been driven by advancements in medical technology, leading to an increasing array of radiopharmaceuticals and imaging modalities. Their potential to grow even further is apparent, as unremitting research explores the development of novel radiotracers, new targets, and innovative applications. This continuous development holds promise for even more precise and effective cancer management procedures. Therefore, we are dedicating this Special Issue to highlighting the latest advancements in imaging and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals that are used in the fight against cancer. It will mainly focus on cutting-edge radiotracers and their unique targets, as well as advanced techniques for labeling and purifying new radiotracers, or those that currently exist, to improve their properties. Therefore, we welcome all original articles and reviews to submit to this Special Issue.

Authors are invited to write on the following topic, but not limited to:

  1. Novel radiotracers and their targets;
  2. Novel methods of labeling and purification of new radiotracers or improving the existing ones;
  3. Stability studies (ex vivo and in vivo);
  4. Major obstacles faced in the development of radiopharmaceuticals.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Pharmaceuticals is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2900 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
