Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Sustainability is a construct based on three basic pillars: social, economic and environmental. Education is currently proposed as one of the fundamental tools to form a responsible, critical, participative and conscious citizenry that can face the current sustainability crisis. Urban settlements are one of the main scenarios in which such citizenship must be formed. In this Special Issue, Sustainable Development Goal 11, "Sustainable Cities and Communities", will play a special role as it seeks to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. With this in mind, this Special Issue will address these aspects from an educational and interdisciplinary approach, welcoming papers related to the right to the city, the inclusive city, participation and sustainable governance in the city, eco-social and urban literacy, social and environmental equity, etc.
