Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The circular economy involves sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling existing materials and products for as long as possible. When a product reaches the end of its life cycle, its materials are kept within the economy wherever possible thanks to recycling. These can be productively used again and again, thereby creating further value. Reusing and recycling products can slow down the use of natural resources, reduce landscape and habitat disruption and help to limit biodiversity loss. Through this system, the intention is to pass from production–consumption–waste economic behavior to production–consumption–reuse behavior, aiming not only for sustainable development through economic sufficiency but also for environmental and social life sustainability. Sustainable entrepreneurs have a responsibility to preserve the value of the resources against the traditional approach of mass production of single products. Thus, sustainable entrepreneurship focuses on increasing value for the company, society and the environment.
To better understand circular economy and a company’s environmental strategies, we expect to gain more insights into the likely outcomes of sustainable entrepreneurship’s environmental strategies, and our Special Issue focuses on advancing the understanding of how sustainable entrepreneurship simultaneously makes sense in terms of both environmental performance and economic performance. The purpose of this Special Issue of MDPI’s journal Sustainability is to gather research papers on advances in environmental performance, economic performance, social performance, marketing strategy, demarketing strategy, green strategy, green organization capability and organization environmental learning, etc. Relevant issues other than the above-mentioned topics are also welcome to be included in this Special Issue.
For this Special Issue, we are calling for submissions related to but not limited to the above topics. Papers that may contribute to a better understanding of circular economy and sustainable entrepreneurship are invited.
