Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The events of 2020 have challenged the way the built environment is designed, managed, and experienced. Droughts, bushfire, and a global pandemic will no doubt force the construction sector to find ways of coping with unpredictable events and respond to a wider and more complex set of requirements. The post-2020 environment urges new design processes, construction techniques, occupancy practices, and management strategies to increase built-environment resilience to extreme, uncontrollable, and unpredictable events while offering healthy and sustainable environments to people. This Special Issue of Sustainability invites papers that address this topic, reflect on what should be the new concept of sustainability for the built environment, and advance knowledge on new research directions post 2020.
