Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Game theory mainly studies how rational individuals interact with one another to achieve their own objectives, and hence attempts to look at the relationship between participants in a particular model and predict their behavior and decisions. Originally, it addressed zero-sum games. Today, game theory has been applied to a wide range of behavioral relations in economics. As three main branches of economics, decision theory, general equilibrium theory and mechanism design theory are closely related with game theory. To date, over ten game-theorists have won the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences. Modern game theory is regarding mixed-strategy equilibrium that allows for modeling decision-making under uncertainty.

Symmetry is thought of as a plausible characteristic of the rational decision with which the solution must be consistent. It is certainly expedient for us to find a solution to a symmetric game and to stay within the realm of mathematics. Therefore, symmetry, being an important optimization technique, is commonly imposed on the structure of games by many researchers. Typically, the symmetric benchmark often provides some profound implications and insights on the asymmetric practical issues.

Since the symmetric game has spawned an enormous amount of theoretical and applicable research, this Special Issue will publish the original research that reflects recent theoretical advances and applicable results in symmetry and games, as well as the challenging issues are invited.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Symmetry is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
