Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Vaccines are very effective health measures and have contributed to eradicating some diseases. However, the response rates are low in some individuals due to different factors able to modulate the immune system, both in its adaptive and innate components, such as microbiota and nutrition. Microbiota can be modulated in different ways (i.e., antibiotics, probiotics, and prebiotics), and via nutrition. This Special Issue will focus on the importance of factors modulating immune system in promoting a healthy immune system and its impact on vaccination response.

Articles for this Special Issue are required to assess the role of factors modulating immune system in promoting a healthy immune system and its impact on vaccination response.

Original research articles and reviews are welcome for submission. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • The role of microbiota in modulating immune response to vaccines;
  • The role of foods in modulating immune response to vaccines;
  • The role of pollutants in modulating immune response to vaccines;
  • The role of fecal microbiota transplantation in modulating immune response to vaccines;
  • The role of aging in modulating immune response to vaccines;
  • The role of adjuvants in vaccine response;
  • The role of probiotics, prebiotics, and synbiotics in modulating immune response to vaccines;
  • The role of autoimmune and autoinflammatory disorders in modulating immune response to vaccines.

I/we look forward to receiving your contributions.
