“This was our second time submitting a paper to MDPI journal Environments. The handling of the paper from the editors, reviewers, and the editorial office was well-organized. Our paper went through full peer review with constructive reviewers’ comments, in spite of the quick turnaround. Overall, we received some good comments from the reviewers which in turn improved the overall presentation and flow of the paper. Moreover, we were impressed with the high level of professionalism at every stage of the processing of the manuscript.”

“It was a pleasure to publish again in the Environments, MDPI. We have submitted our paper for a special issue on Application of Remote Sensing and GIS in Environmental Studies. The reviewing process allows us to considerably improve the final quality of the paper. Moreover, all the process was very fast and professional. In the near future, it is my intention to submit new work to Environments.”

In comparison to other journals, the process is fast and easier. “This was my first submission to MDPI Environments. I was impressed by the helpful efficiency, transparency and the speed of the review process: four weeks from submission through reviews and revision to publication. This was my first experience with text overlap analysis, which clarified where my review needed to keep precise wording from earlier work, and where revision would improve clarity. As a native English speaker, educated long ago at the Universities of Cambridge and London, I was amused that Chinese science editors are now setting the global standards for ‘scientific English’. Sometimes pedantic but still helpful, since where edits changed my meaning, usually it was my text that was unclear.”

“This has been our first publication in Environments and we want to express our positive impression of all the steps of the peer-reviewed process. We were surprised by the rapidity and kindness in which the whole process was carried out, from the sending of the first version of the manuscript, the reception of the comments of the reviewers and the final version and its publication. Although this feature is well documented on its website, we believe it should be enhanced.”

“The Journal Environments, published by MDPI and affiliated with The Society for Urban Ecology, is a wonderful and welcome addition to the serious online efforts for authors wishing to widely disseminate their results. The professional attention to details from the Editorial Office and the respectful handling of the author's manuscripts is a refreshing approach compared to other efforts, more classical in nature and with a longer tradition in publishing scientific papers. The time needed by the journal to handle manuscript review and revision is optimal: they quickly move the process but do not rush, so they get it done properly. Revision and interaction with the Editorial Office has been one of the best experiences I have had with my co-authors in recent times and their willingness to assist us to make sure the article was accurate and well-formatted were outstanding. I would highly encourage anyone interested in having a wide range of exposure for their work to submit to Environments.”
